Ronaldo screwed by notorious Saudi player

Al-Nasr failed to overcome his numerical inferiority in the 2023-24 Saudi Super Cup semifinals against Al-Hila at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the 9th (Korea time).

The Saudi Super Cup is a competition in which four teams that won and finished second in the Saudi Pro League and Saudi King Cup participate to determine the champion. Al-Nasr qualified for the tournament because he finished second in the league last season.

Coincidentally, Al-Nasr met Al-Hilal, who is currently competing for the league title, in the semi-finals. Al-Hilal, who is currently unbeaten since the opening of the season, has taken the lead with 77 points (25 draws and two losses), while Al-Nasr, who has 65 points (21 wins, two draws and four losses), is trailing behind.

Al-Nasr, who clashed with Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup, finished 0-0 in the first half. Otavio seemed to be ahead in the first half as he pushed a cross from the right side into the net to score the first goal, but VAR denied Al-Nasr's first goal as Ronaldo, who was on the offside before Otavio's shot, attempted to shoot first.

Al-Nasr, whose first goal failed, was on the verge of defeat as he allowed Salem Aldosari and Malcolm to lose in succession in the 16th and 27th minutes of the second half.

Al-Nasr desperately needed a chasing goal to tie the game, but Ronaldo was outnumbered in the 41st minute of the second half when he received a red card for violent behavior.

The situation in question happened near the touchline. Ronaldo tried to pick up a ball that went off the line for a quick development, but Al-Hilal defender Al-Bolahi blocked Ronaldo from developing a throw-in, which hindered the development of the throw-in. Ronaldo, who was momentarily unable to control his emotions, pushed Al-Bolaihi and swung his elbow.

After seeing Ronaldo's action, the referee immediately took out a red card and ordered Ronaldo to leave. Ronaldo was thus sent off for the first time since joining Saudi Arabia in December 2022.

Al-Hilal's No. 5 Al-Bolaihi is well known as a player who coincidentally got on the nerves of several star players.

The most representative was the war of nerves between Messi and Son Heung-min.

In the match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia, which he met in the first group match of the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup, Albolaich deliberately put a nerve war on Messi.

At that time, Albolaich drew attention as it was revealed belatedly that he put his head in and said, "You won't win." In fact, in this game, Messi passed the opponent's provocation with laughter and scored the first goal of the penalty kick, but later made several offside errors and failed to score additional points and lost 1-2.

Son Heung-min was also affected by Al-Bolaihi. South Korea and Saudi Arabia met in the round of 16 at the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Qatar Asian Cup held in January.

Alvolaihi grabbed Son by the hair while talking with him in the match. Son was embarrassed and appealed to the referee. The video clip also showed him grabbing Hwang Hee-chan by the neck.

Al-Bolaihi is a fairly tough player. He played 25 games in the Saudi professional league this 2023-2024 season, recording seven warnings and one direct exit. This is the first direct exit in his ninth year as a professional player, but he has 60 career warnings and five cumulative exits.

Ronaldo was properly scratched by Al-Bolaihi's provocation, earning the disgrace of being the first direct exit on the Saudi stage.
